For this afternoon's post about menswear I decided to focus on something very classic and I picked Stefano Pilati's collection for Yves Saint Laurent. The show was simple and elegant and the circular runway lined with chairs for the audience created a very intimate atmosphere. The retro inspired 60s look created slim silhouettes and I found the sleek, ankle length trousers particularly appealing. To keep a balance with all the form fitting suits, the designer also added some oversized jackets. The chunky shoes with built-up soles seem to make themselves noticed in several shows on the Paris runways, maybe hinting toward a new trend (notice here the camouflage detail on the soles!). To put it short - Stefano Pilati's vision for the next automn/winter season is clean cuts and no unnecessary embellishments.
