Monday 20 August 2012

Brand: H&M
Season: Autumn 2012
Model: Lana Del Rey
Photographer: Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin

Hi guys, I'm back from my insane roadtrip! It was really incredible, I can't wait to tell you all about it, my boyfriend and I had such an amazing time on the road and we shot some great photos! While I start adjusting to my everyday life and start sorting through the zillions of pics, here's the latest big fashion news: Lana Del Rey is the new image of H&M's Autumn 2012 collection! The ad campaign was shot by Inez and Vinoodh and it features some iconic pieces of the collection.

I know I haven't talked to you about Lana Del Rey before, but I really love her style and I'll definitely cover that anytime soon! The singer will also perform a cover of "Blue Velvet" especially for the short-film accompanying the photos of the campaign. The film will be released in the coming weeks, I'll keep you posted!

ZARA Man AW 2012 Ad Campaign

Thursday 9 August 2012

The menswear Fall 2012 ad campaign for ZARA is a fantastic black and white whirlwind of classic looks featuring two of the best male models in the industry: Jon Kortajarena and Sean O'Pry. Sean has been featured quite a lot in the past few years in the ZARA campaigns, but what I really liked was the inclusion of Jon Kortajarena into the campaign - the two are a very cool and classy duo, perfect for the autumn garments. Have a look for yourselves!

ZARA Woman AW 2012 Ad Campaign

Wednesday 8 August 2012

After so much travelling it was already time to get back to the business of fashion! Freja Beha Erichsen is back in the spotlight and she looks more stunning than ever in the black and white AW 2012 ad campaign shots for ZARA. I love her personal style and in my opinion it's totally compatible with what we see here in these shots. Can't wait for the autumn collection to hit the stores! Enjoy the photos!

Travel Series: Castiglione del Lago

Monday 6 August 2012

For the last post of this travel series from Italy I saved photos from Castiglione del Lago, a fortified city at the Trasimeno lake. The ruins of the fort and the city centre are beautiful and the lake is a bright blue shade. It was terribly hot though, so we had to hide from the sun in the middle of the day, luckily we found a cute cafe next to the lake and we could enjoy the view!

Italy is very well-known for its truffles and the region is full of them. There were a lot of big ones on sale at the local stores. The food is also amazing here, but unfortunately every time I received the food first I started eating and I always forgot to take pictures!

Travel Series: Spoleto

Sunday 5 August 2012

After the trek through the forest and the old town in Todi we went to the nearby town of Spoleto, with its big Duomo and the winding cobblestone streets lined with stone houses covered in ivy and vine. You'll notice the same architecture of the region and the same high houses and narrow streets, but the difference in this city is in the huge opening of the piazza in front of the Duomo, you don't expect it when you come from a narrow street! We also met a very cute local in this city, keep an eye and find him!

Road Trip Plans

Saturday 4 August 2012

Today I'm getting ready for a new adventure: a road trip through Europe! Over the next two weeks I'll be wondering around Southern Austria and the magnificent Worthersee, the party skiing city Sankt Anton am Arlberg, Paris - the city of love, Munich and its breweries and Vienna. I have a few posts for you in store while I'm away continuing my travel series in Italy and some beautiful ad campaigns for the upcoming autumn/winter season. I'll read all your comments I promise, but I don't know if I'll have time to answer them all while I'm gone, but be patient and keep reading my stories, I'll definitely answer as soon as I get the chance! Have a great week-end!

Travel Series: Street Styles

Friday 3 August 2012

Not to tire you too much with photos of buildings and streets, here are some shots of a few stylish readers of mine. Hi guys!

Travel Series: Todi

Thursday 2 August 2012

I'm very glad that you enjoyed my first photos from Italy! As I've said yesterday, Perugia was our headquarters and after we finished visiting everything there was to see there, we started touring around the hillside towns of the region. Our first stop was in Todi, a quaint little town with traditional Umbrian burnt stone facades, yards and colorful flowers. The entrance to the city was very interestingr: the centre is on top of the hill and if you choose the scenic route to get on top you can go trekking through the forest. When you reach the top, right after you get out of the forest you see the fort and there you are!

Travel Series: Perugia

Wednesday 1 August 2012

I know I told you about my vacation in Italy a few weeks ago and that you were all waiting for the photos, but until now I didn't have the chance to write about it, there was always something else coming up. After all your curious messages asking about my trip, here is the start of my travel photos series! I hope you'll enjoy it :)

The headquarters for my trip was the lovely city of Perugia located in the Umbria region of Italy. The city has a beautiful old city centre with brick stone walls, churches, alleys, inner courtyards and even a century-old aqueduct turned into a high street. The city is very cosmopolitan and full of life, as it hosts one of Italy's biggest universities for foreign students. The usual gathering point is in the main piazza marking the entrance into the old city where dozens of people enjoy the cooler air of the evening sitting on the stone steps. Let me guide you through the city!
