Oscars 2011: Best Dressed

Mila Kunis - Elie Saab

I thought we could take a break from fashion week and have a peak into my favorite looks from the red carpet at the Oscars. The looks are very diverse, from this stunning lavender creation by Elie Saab and the cranberry Atelier Versace, to the Art Deco of Givenchy Couture or the simple chic of Chanel. You will also notice some fine menswear along the way. Remember when I did a style profile on Florence Welch from Florence + the Machine? Her performance at the Oscars on the nominated soundtrack from "127 Hours" was breathtaking and her Valentino frock fitted her esthetic perfectly. Have a closer look and tell me what you think. Which one was you favorite? Did I miss anything?

Natalie Portman - Rodarte

Michelle Williams - Chanel

Cate Blanchett - Givenchy Couture

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves -

Andrew Garfield - Louis Vuitton

Milan Fashion Week: Roberto Cavalli

I really liked Roberto Cavalli's dark, apocalyptic esthetic. There was something about the clothes, the wet hair drawn together at the neckline and the piercing smoky eyes that told a story that drew you in from the beginning. I was impressed by such a strong runway show! All that layering and mixes of prints and materials like chiffon, python or leather, in a dark color palette created an aura of mystery on the runway. The outfits I really liked were the metallic blazers with baroque patterns, the leather jacket-grey pants combo, the navy coat with golden appliques, the blue fur vest and the animal prints. The contrast of the gorgeous floor-length dresses in soft materials and the more tailored menswear-inspired pieces in harsh metallic tones added to the surreal feel of the show, the models looked gorgeous in their apocalyptic setting.

Milan Fashion Week: Bottega Veneta

The Bottega Veneta's runway show had elegant shapes and very nice dresses. The best part of the show in was in my opinion the last part with all the dresses - lace or other materials with colorful patterns, they were very flattering. My favorite dresses then? I'd have to say the black and orange one with the orange belt and the two green ones. I really liked the bags and the clutches and like we saw in the other Milan shows, orange, bright yellow and python (in those colors) are the new color trend for accessories. Here are some of my favorite pieces:
