Winter break

Saturday, 29 January 2011

Good morning! Just wanted to say bye before I leave for my winter break - skiing in St. Anton THE place to be in Austria: perfect slopes, the most amazing sceneries, snow, cold and the best après-ski fun there could possibly be! If I've made you curious, check some of my older posts about this gem of the Austrian Alps, such as this one or this other one to catch a glimpse of where I'm heading. I don't know how much posting I'm going to do next week, but when I'm back I still have something to show you from the Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, as well as many other surprises, so don't disappear! Keep in touch!

Paris Men's Fashion Week: Louis Vuitton

The Louis Vuitton Prêt-à-Porter collection presented at the Men's Fashion Week in Paris last week was based on a darker color palette in general, with black, grey and brown tones and occasional dashes of bright orange or red. The dark clothes were otherwise brightened by contrasting accessories - either a scarf, a bag, sunglasses or gloves. The must-have styles for the next Autumn/Winter season are, according to Louis Vuitton, leather and fur coats, cardigans, a lot of layering, subtle patterns, big bags, accessories in contrasting colors and belted jackets. Here are some of the pieces I liked, but you can find more inspiration watching the runway video below the pictures.

Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week: Chanel

Friday, 28 January 2011

The second day of the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week dedicated the first half of the day to Karl Lagerfeld and his collection for Chanel. The pieces are very feminine with the traditional Chanel tweed jackets or suits and giving them a modern twist by combining them with sequins and beaded tops and gowns. The color palette of this spring/summer collection is very soft, with pearly grey and light pink tones. Today's woman, always on the rush wears flats instead of sky-high heels and is very sophisticated. It was really difficult to chose which pieces I liked best, so here are a lot of pictures, you can chose your own favorites among them!

And here's the video if you want to see more of this fabulous and inspiring fashion show!

Paris Men's Fashion Week: John Galliano

Yesterday while looking for different videos from the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, I stumbled upon a video of John Galliano's latest menswear collection that was presented just last week at the Men's Fashion Week. I thought that it would be interesting to present some menswear collections in the afternoon related to the designers that I present in the morning post! So this is the masculine counterpart to the Christian Dior fashion show. Galliano had a lot of eccentric pieces as usual. The collection is very fun to watch! Here are some of the most intriguing pieces, as well as a video in the end:

And the designer himself:

Here's the video (the music is great too, it gets you in the right atmosphere to enjoy the clothes):
