Photo of the Week: Portrait in Thailand

Friday, 25 April 2014

This week's inspiration comes all the way from Thailand with this stunning black and white portrait of a woman waiting for her husband after finishing her work. Shot by Drussawin Leepaisal and submitted to National Geographic's My Shot collection, this portrait's power hides behind that piercing, uncovered eye. One gets the feeling that there's so much more to the story than just this fleeting moment caught on camera, one feels intrigued and wants to discover more about the person in the shot.

As you probably noticed before, portraits of people from around the world inspire me a lot. Do you enjoy this type of photography or are you more of a landscape fan?
